Raspberry Island

sits approximately 35 miles from Kodiak City, nestled between Kodiak and Afognak Islands. There are no roads or bridges connecting us to a population center. Access is by boat or floatplane, and even before arrival, guests notice that the separation from the outside world is immediate and unmistakable.
Visitors fly commercially into the Kodiak Airport, and transportation to the lodge from Kodiak is included in each of our packages. The journey is part of the experience: approximately 90 minutes by boat as we travel between Kodiak, Spruce, Whale, Afognak, and Raspberry Islands—or about 25 minutes by floatplane, crossing the same island chain from above. Either way, the approach reveals the scale of the archipelago long before you step from the boat or plane onto our beach.
On a map, Kodiak Raspberry Island Remote Lodge sits on the shore of protected Raspberry Strait near Iron Creek, across from Muskomee Bay on Afognak Island. From our windows, we look across the strait to Afognak Island, while behind the lodge “Granny” Mountain rises to nearly 1,800 feet. Our location is deliberate—set within vast, intact coastal wilderness.
